Local Parish Leads Flood Relief Efforts in Kerr County, Texas

When devastating floods struck Kerr County, Texas, over the Fourth of July weekend, entire communities were shaken by the rising waters of the Guadalupe River.

But amid the devastation, one thing became clear: the Body of Christ is alive and moving. 

Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville–a trusted local parish and eCatholic partner–is leading relief efforts with a compassionate, hands-on approach. With their deep ties to the community and ministry presence on the ground, they've already raised over $300,000 to support families affected by the floods. But the need for ongoing prayers and additional financial support remains.


In a moving video message above, Fr. Scott Janysek shares the heartbreak, hope, and faith that his parish has experienced since the flood. Just days into his new assignment in Kerrville, he stepped into a community reeling from loss and has been present with his people ever since.
